Esta pintura se distingue por la exageración en la postura corporal de los personajes, así como en el manejo del vuelo y volumen de las telas. Miguel de Mendoza, pintor y manifiesto indio cacique, originario de la Mixteca de Oaxaca, fue cuñado de Cristobal de Villalpando, de quien copió su estilo.
